Why dont employees in the finance industry work from home more? The technology exists, is it a trust issue?

I work in an office and often choose to walk down the corridor to speak to people in the next room when I could just phone them, why? Because it's more natural for us to want to speak to somebody face to face.

Besides, many people don't want to work from home. It's difficult enough to have a good work life balance in the finance industry when you work and live in seperate places, imagine how hard it would be if your bedroom was next to your office.
