Why dont i care abbout school this year?

Ok. i'm in 8th grade and all last year i didn't mind doin school work. i did ok, but this year.i just dont seem to care. i mean i know its important and teens my age usually slack off alittle. but shouldn't i be tryin 2 do better 4 high school? I just hav gelt like doin nothing at school the last few months. all my grades have gone down to the low 70's im even failing GYM! i no it sounds like a simple thing to anser..."just do your hw" but it really is sooo much more complicated than that...

I went through that same thing a few years ago. And really, there's nothing you can do about it. Your gonna do what you want. You either do your work or you don't. If you don't want to, you aren't going to.

But now that I'm in highschool I defintely regret not doing well in middle school, so really try and do your best, because those grades will reflect in your highschool year. You will not do as good in highschool either, because what you learned in middle school transfers on into highschool, but it's even harder.

do good that way u dont get 2 english or 2 math classes but it matters in high school for credits

I know what your saying and i was in the same mess. Basically i did good in year 7and liked it, then i went into year 8 and did pretty bad in a lot of subjects, for me i just hated school that year  it was probably to do with my class, i didn't like it much. Once i got into year 9 i didn't mind school at all and did really well in most subjects. This year im in 10 and i hope its good. Im Australian by the way.

ever heard about a "gap year?" many students esp in the UK go for a gap year to clear their heads and get their priorities straight. they either go traveling around the world, do volunteer work or stay at another country and experience life there for a year. maybe this is just what you need
