Why dont i have dreams

hey i havent really had dreams in a while and kinda miss them and when i finally do its usually a bad dream i usually sleep pretty comfortable can this be cuased by wathing tv to fall asleep?

  1. You actually do have dreams. You just aren't waking up during them. In order to remember dreaming you have to wake up during the dream. If you have a lot of stress or physical exertion going on right now you may be sleeping very deeply and not waking up until you have too. If you want to remember a dream have someone wake you up at a certain time or set an alarm at an unusual time for you and you will probably remember your dream. Happy dreaming!

    I have been to a therapist who suggested that I keep a dream journal.

    Writing down your dreams immediately when you wake up (this is important) will train you to remember more of your dreams. Also if you can try to lighten your sleep somehow, that will help. Try sleeping when you are exactly too tired. Sleeping during the day with lots of light shining through also helps. If you're disturbed by a noise, don't wake up. Try to ignore it and stay sleeping. If you sleep for 6-8 hours, try sleeping for 10-12. It might seem like a lot, but I find that it's during the hours that I'm actually trying to stay sleeping that I sleep lighter and can remember the dreams.

    I happen to sometimes have lucid dreams, which is when one can actually control to a small degree what you do in the dream.

    Of course you can't write down you dreams if you don't remember any of them, but if you do or can eventually, writing them down in a dream journal will train you to remember them in greater detail over time. When recording them, it's best to write in present tense instead of past tense. So, you'll want to try to relive the dream and describe it like "I see someone with a gray jacket on" instead of "I saw someone with a gray jacket on."

  5. dont watch tv before bed, and buy a dream interpretation book(it'll tell u how 2 rememeber ur dreams)
