I have a lenovo 3000 c200. when ever i try to up the volume, i just see the volume adjuster thingy and its shaded. i dont hear any sound except for the sound FX of me clicking from site to site, the start up tune, ect. i tried playing a video and theres no sound at all! I cant bring it to a manufactuer or a store, and im a computer smart person for the most part but i have never encountered a problem like this in the two years that ive had this laptop.

  1. well this could be for a number of reasons

1# you recently reinstall windows onto your pc and didnt reinstall the sound driver

    SOLUTION

    1# go to http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.w...

2# click on 63as08ww.exe and download the file

3# open it then follow the instuctions

2# you acidenly disabled the sound card driver

    SOLUTION

1# RIGHT CLICK MY COMPUTER THEN CLICK PROPITES

2# now click the hardware tab then device manager

3# look for your audio sound card driver then click the drop down tab and make sure there is no red crosses under the drivers

try both the solutions even if you didnt reinstall windows as it may some how been moved

  2. did the video u were trying to watch even have sound

and some programs have a seperate sound bar built right into the program so try looking at that

  3. Try going to Start > Control Panel > Sound.  See if you can manually do it from there. If that doesn't work, then bring it in because something may be wrong with the speakers. If you plug in headphones, does that work?
