  1. Jag has had some serious reliability issues for years.

First they were a UK owned company and British cars a notoriously bad.  Then Ford bought them and didn't help any at all.   Now they are owned by an Indian manufacturer Tata, the same company that is selling the infamous $2500 car.

They look great, they have all the luxury features you'd want, but that alone does not make a car people want to own.

  2. Jaguars have a long history of bad reliability.

they are expensive to own and repair.

the joke is you need to own 2 Jaguars so you have something to drive while the other one is in the repair shop.

BMW's are expensive as well but their repair record and reputation is much better.

  3. Cost of ownership, maintenance reputation & reliability, and popularity may have bearing on the resale value of vehicles.

  4. Well, people do keep their Jags longer than people who own BMW's. People who own Jaguars are usually loyal to their cars and are a tad elder. BMWs are for the younger generation with more power and technology.

  5. Because at the end of the day, a Jag is just an expensive Ford.

BMW just makes better car with wider mass appeal.

  6. because Jaguars been tattoo starting in the 70 - 80 with history of problems. Same reason why some car model name changed because manufacture don't want it be tattoo with same reason.
