people say they dont have any good games it cost too much. but now that its cheaper (its now  $399.99) and there starting to get good games uncharted ratchet and clank resistance 1 and 2 mgs 4 killzone 2 little big planet god of war 3 infamous hevenly sword lair warhawk socom motor storm 1 and 2

First of all, guy above me, Xbox live is $50 a year, a measly $4 a month.  So, PS3 is free, big whoop.  You still are paying $100 more for the console for no reason whatsoever.  And the ones they sell now don't even play PS2 games!

Second, the "80%" failure rate you claim is absolutely ridiculous, try 16%.  ANY device has a chance of failing.  And didn't one of the official PS3 updates brick the system?  Yeah, that's pretty brilliant.

Just for the record, I was pro-Sony all the way until the PS3 launch.

Most people do like PS3 its just that gamers have different taste. They may want to play Halo, but the 360 came before everything else. Thats why a lot people have it. Then it had errors with the RROD. And when the PS3 came out we bought and then the 360 fanboys start saying stuff on the internet. You cant underestimate the power of the PS3 while one of our games, MAG has 256 players online and you say 360 is better. I dont underdstand it. Without us there would be no DMC 4, GTA IV, FFXII, and most other games.

Xbox is not cheaper all the accessories make it overpriced. Then you have to pay $50 a year for online. **** that.

Why are you so dissapointed with no backwards compatibility. There is a 160gb PS3 bundled with Uncharted for $ 499.99 coming this fall. And I THINK THATS A GOOD DEAL.

Anyway since some games can only be possible for PS3 I think we have a bright future for us.

Mainly the price. It definitely has the features though. Hopefully when MAG (Massive Action Game) comes out, PS3 will really start picking up momentum. Imagine playing shooters with over 250 people in one online match. Its already been stated that Xbox cannot handle this processing powering, thus making this game exclusive.

If you live in a country that speaks primarily english and you read articles mostly in english, you might really have that impression.

IF YOU WOULD ANALYZE WHY

even though PS3 fanbase is growing faster* than the xbox rate

*check it for yourself

- The 360 was released earlier, as a result a head-start fanbase (usually people eager to get a next gen console)

- The 360 has a large fanbase in english speaking countries

   why is this significant? people you see writing articles in english are included STATISCALLY (in percentage terms) or connected to the 360 fanbase.

- The PS3 has a large fanbase to non-english speaking communities (note this should not be taken negatively, but only as a means of classification)

if you would rationalize:

The ones stated above are possible reasons.

Look around maybe you are just dwelling in possibly Xbox territory or sites that disguise themselves as unbiased but actually leaned towards the 360.

Extrapolating... the PS3 is going to beat the Xbox in about a span of 8-15 months*.

*this may vary according to future factors, based only on past performance

I bear the PS3 battlestandard, I do not hide that I had my dwindles in faith. But I still fight for the PS3!

It is because many people think it is more expensive than the xbox 360, because they think they both do the same stuff. I own a PS3 and my friend agrees with me seeing as he has an xbox 360 that the PS3 is much better. Thats because for 200 quid you can get an arcade console. but for an extra 100 quid you can get an ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM which is better. This is because it can be a Stereo (plays Music and CDs), It can play movies and save the movies to a Hard Drive (including the High Definition Dvd which is Blu- Ray), It can hold many pictures, and not only that you can browse the internet without buying software like the DS. It can also play high definition games. which the Xbox can do but it is only 20 quid cheaper than a PS3. You might aswell buy the PS3 because you have a built in Blu Ray disc player. Not to mention online gaming is free when Xbox live is a monthly payment.

So even you could definately argue that the PS3 is more value for your money.

Cause its so expensive and the xbox is cheap and **** and break down all the time (the red circle of death). When gta4 was released xbox's crashed cause they couldnt handle such a big game so their ****

I have neutral feeling toward this system actually, but I think the reason is probably lack of good games. However, it work out well for me as games are getting expensive nowadays and I just don't buy as much.PS3 has become my casual gaming system.. lol

I was lined up to buy one then I heard that it's not actually backwards compatible. Well, a few earlier versions were, but not widely available anymore.

I was so excited that I'd have one machine for PS2 and PS3 games, but they totally screwed their PS2 fans. The money I had saved up for a PS3 went towards a new computer and been playing PC games since.

Depending on how bitter I feel about Sony s******g us playstation fans over, I might consider buying a PS3 for FF13. But... it is coming out for xbox too.

Soon as I hear that they admit it was a mistake to pull the EE chips out of the PS3s and that they're rolling out new PS3s that are actually backwards compatible, I'll be their friend again. Right now, I just want kick the person's *** who's responsible for pulling those off shelves.

I know 3 people with a buncha PS2 games sitting around gathering dust while they bought a XBox360, 2 of them are also pissed at Sony for doing what they did.

Yeah, maybe I'll see what the big deal is about Halo. I must be the only person on the entire planet that has never tried any of them.

It is not that many people dont like the PS3, it is all these Xbox 360 fans that are all over the net, saying how bad it is. most people are put off by the price on the PS3, but in the long run you are saving money, PS3 online is free, Xbox 360 is $90 a year. the games are around the same price on both consoles but what most people dont know is that the Xbox has an 80% chance of breaking and the ps3 has only a 2% chance, again making the PS3 a better option in purchasing.

First and foremost Sony alienated a lot of potential PS3 buyers by launching a game system at $499 for the 20GB and $599 for the 60GB !

Despite Sony's loyal PS2 following, most PS2 gamers didn't go out to spend $500 or $600 on a system Sony is touting as everything but what it should be a .......... game console. The blu-ray drive is nice but it was too soon to add it since the price for blu-ray drives is still fairly high. Sony should have waited and added the blu-ray drive in the PS4. By then the blu-ray drive price would have been reasonable enough that most gamers could afford a PS4 ! As it stands now most people haven't bought the PS3 because the price is still to high for average gamers or parents looking to buy one for their kids.

Another reason would be the many variations of the PS3 that Sony has had  it's sickening. People have bought the cheap 40GB versions assuming that it was BC when it isn't !

The PS3 is also the clunkiest game console since the old Panasonic 3DO machine from the mid 1990's. It looks like like a beta vcr than a game console !

The PS3 will play PS1 games but not PS2 ! How feasible is that and who still plays PS1 games ?

The PS3 is awesome when you look at the specs but most of what it allows you to do can be done on your average PC !

They whine about the price(technically CHEAPER then the 360 when you consider that it has free Wi-Fi and you'd have to pay $100 more for the adapter, you also have to consider the PS3 has Blu-Ray and the 360 can't go next gen on DVD). The only real problem I see with it right now is that it has so few exclusives. I mean consider that net is free on PS3. It is $50 for Xbox live for a year, which isn't bad BTW. So the PS3 is cheaper in the long run, but people see instant price and the 360 is cheaper and has more games, and so many games are on both systems right now.

because there still judging on when it first came out. the ps3 has grown, and now is second to no console. but some people still think its $600 and they still think it has no games when both are obviously untrue
