  1. Because the Summer olympics are during the MLB season. MLB players play in the World baseball classic which is every couple years.


  2. The Olympics are in the middle of the season.

  3. It's the same time as the baseball season and the mlb teams can't afford to lose any players.

  4. It's the same times as the regular season and they just don't want to stop the regular season. And so they don't get hurt playing in the Olympics. You never know what the Cubans will do to you.....
