Did I miss a memo or something. There is nothing better than that smile on her face when im cooking something for her. is it just tradition that we as men dont cook and expect the woman to cook or is it mainly how we were raised? open to all genders.

  1. Women have had liberation in that the message is ' you want to be girly, traditional that's fine!' or 'you want to be a tomboy or have a career that's fine too!'

Men are still cuahgt up in trying to conform to societies views of being a 'real' man.

  2. Every once in awhile it's good to do this.  But overall most women want to please men.  That means cooking doing some other chores for him.  It's not a bad thing unless your not being grateful for it.

  3. well, its generally known to be the woman who takes care of the housekeeping / cooking and the man to just make the money. but in today's day and age, it is becoming more even balanced. some people just haven't made that transition yet.

  4. Because I don't want to..

  5. Maybe some guys still believe that cooking is "women's work." I know that it's downright s**y when the guy I'm seeing is cooking. Just watching him bustle around the kitchen with that look of concentration makes me want to jump him.

  6. My boyfriend absolutely loves to cook and I appreciate it to no end - I can cook a few things but since he loves it..why not?

  7. I love to cook for who ever i am seeing, and i d**n good at it to lol i can create a creation of art trust me there.

  8. it.s because they want to .

  9. Because the moment you make anything more involved than a boiled egg you are classified as 'whipped' in her mind.

If you're already living with her, that's fine.

But if she hasn't put out yet, if you cook for her it greatly decreases your chances of getting in.

  10. My lady and I share the cooking, and usually do it together.

I have cooked since I was a child, as has she.

In most households where one person cooks, the other is doing other things.

  11. Why don t more women carry heavy things for men?

  12. The guy I'm with is a chef turned writer. He decided he hated cooking as a job but still loves doing it when he wants to. On our first date, I began cooking something and he tossed me on the sofa and told me he was going to cook and made me watch tv while he did it. He made an amazing pasta salad and we had peanut butter cup smoothies.

Needless to say, we'll be getting married soon! I cook sometimes, too, because I like it. But when he wants to cook I don't stand in his way (I can't anyway, because he'll just pick me up and move me... curses on this being a runt business...)

My dad is a bit different, haha. He makes the steaks every now and then which is cool. I think my mom doesn't care but she does get annoyed at him always leaving his plate, utensils and cup at the table, instead of taking it to the sink like everyone else. He's getting better! I see him doing it maybe 4 times per year, hahaha. Old habits I guess.

  13. I think it's a homemaker thing.

Like the whole 50's way of thinking: men work, women take care of babies and clean.

It could be a pride thing too. In fact, i'm sure that is it. Women are, from generation to generation (for the most part) taught to cook and home-make from their mothers and thier mothers taught them!

When a guy cooks for a girl, it twists the whole process. and if he turns out to be a better cook?! WOAH. watch out...

I personally have NO problem letting the man cook. It's great to learn about each other through cooking!

  14. My last 3 exes loved to cook for me and I was selfless enough to let them have it their way :)

  15. I wasn't aware that they didn't.  All the men I've ever known have cooked, and I've never thought of it as an exclusively female activity.  It's mostly men who become top chefs, after all, so why would men not be capable of cooking at home as well?

  16. Maybe because most of us do not have a passion for cooking. Altought the ones that do, are usually great at doing it.

    EDIT

"Real men cook! or atleast know how to"

And how exactly does cooking make a man? Plus, a person that knows how to cook, doesn't necessarily mean they like to cook.

  17. I don't know but my spouse and I have certain meals that she cooks and does a better job with and I have meals that I do a better job with. Outside grilling and bar-be-que and gumbo are my specialties.  Meat Loaf is another meal that I like to do.  The Turkey for holiday meals is my bailiwick too.  All of the other wonderful meals that we so enjoy are hers.  If position or power or boss or pants wearer in the family get involved in the cooking in this house will  caca is going to hit the fan cause we don't put up with any foolishness in this here house.  Never did and never will.

  18. It's a great idea to cook a romantic dinner for her.  I've had a few ex's who wanted to cook.  Some assumed they were better cooks than I but it was a nice treat to be cooked for.

  19. The men do the dirty work like the outside tough work that we cant do haha! altho some women can do that but im fine with doing the easy jobs lol and remember some men cant cook so that may be the reason.

  20. They are too busy being professional chefs and earning good money for it.

  21. actually the stone age man, our ancestor who gave us our genes, would go get the meat AND cook it

-which explains why men love bbq's and to grill meat

Ive also noticed time after time, that the man (of the  couple observed)made a better cook because of a mixture of pent up sexual energy, combined with male-type cause&effect know how, resulting in some well done culinary creations.

(at least thats been our theory as to why!)

  22. My man cooks for me almost every night and he even likes to cook for my friends and family! I love it and it is very s**y. Nothing is sexier and nicer than for me to come home and have him say, What would you like me to make you tonight? It is luxury...
