I have a pair of Box turtles and they mate constantly. I have had on many occasion eggs layed but even though I have put them in a incubator in always moist vermiculite at the ideal temperture they never hatch! My Very famouse vet (Television personality veternarian) tells me I have to hibernate the female turtle in order to produce fertal eggs is this always correct? Ive had her for over 10 years and have never hibernated her. any suggestions on breeding my two babies will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

  1. you could do what he says but also make sure that they do it during the breeding season. also try making her bulk up more and get the eggs more nutrient that should help. i haven't done that and i hatched 3 batches in 4 years succesfully.
