Why dont people stop cutting down trees?

its not fair why are people so evil. its a sin to cut down one of the trees so at the end of the day if anyone does it they will most probaly go to h**l. when they die. why do people do it.

i know all the c**p about people saying we need trees for paper and stuff like that but who cares. we need trees to survive we need them. not just that they look nice. i like forests and woods i dont want them to be ruined by humans who think they can control the world. when they carnt.

So, you took my advice and moved from gloabl warming to the cutting down of trees. Good on you.

What we need is more companies like Ikea - they have a policy in place - they recycle most if not nearly all their packaging - they plant trees in areas of the UK to combat deforestation - they plough millions of pounds worldwide into schemes like this in all countries they operate in - not only shops but factory suppliers as well.

Companies should be made to plant trees wherever and whenever possible in ALL countries.

Fuel tax on flights should be scrapped and a tree tax put in place - for the destiantion you are visiting and leaving - each passenger should plant a tree.

That would be approx 30,000,000 trees a year from the UK alone - job done

the problem is not cutting down trees--it is not replanting that which we use--so unless you use your finger to wipe with-don't pretend that your not part of the problem-spend your time -volunteer to plant some trees - hug them as they grow

Its fine to cut down trees as they are renewable. Its using up fossils fuels that is the problem as you cannot replace them. But we can always plant more trees

Actually we are inviting disaster ourselves by not stopping the cutting trees and most of our needs are based on woody material as  in our homes most of objects, furnitures etc. are made of woods. Peoples demanding them in a big quantity among us. So we may also responsible for all this in little quantity. On the other hand Government is not making any implementing policy regarding this and corruption is there a lot.

When most of the prople get educated about the harms of cutting trees, a feasible and viable alternative to wooden products is available and the poverty is eradicated out of the lives of woodcutter, this problem might get vanished.

It seems either you are a troll trying to make environmentalists look bad or you have extremely polarized in your ideology.

Obviously the answer is about balance. Don't clear cut but cull, and no old growth stuff period. There is very little of that and should be protected national parks.

Ultimately however we need to use sustainable crops such as hemp which you can not only make paper, but construction particle like board, clothing, food, etc.

If you read about the history of hemp you'd see there was a powerful owner of wood based paper (William Randolph Hearst) and a newspaper tycoon (Pierre Dupont) who teemed up to marginalize hemp to where it is today.

11) We make everyhing out of Hemp

So why do we still cut down trees?

We could make everything out of Hemp for sure.

Where I live, when trees are harvested, they are replanted. In fact, there are 100 times more trees now than 40 years ago.

I assume that your house contains no wood in it and that you never use paper. You are willing to risk having a dead tree fall on your house. You use corn cobs to wipe with after using the toilet and have found some way to dispose of them after use; they don't flush well.

You are assuming that a completely-forested landscape (where environmental conditions allow) would be a good thing. From a wildlife point of view, it would be a disaster. Google "edge effect" or "ecotone" if you don't want to take my word for it.

Managed forest do better than natural ones, because diseased trees, can wipe out many others. Dead trees, will block light reaching the forest floor, and become a risk for natural fires to start via lighting strikes.

I would call this being smart; Not evil.

i like nature and stuff to but what they should do is plant this little forest and make sure wild life does not live there and every time they need a tree they can cut it down but must plant another one in its place
