We all want to look after our countryside - agreed? So why do I see home made and professional signs on the side of the road advertising fetes and fairs or elections and when you look at the date it was 3 months ago. Shouldnt they have to have a license to regulate them so they can be forced to take them down after the event

  1. yeah there are but they are just to lazy to enforce them.

  2. because they are either to stupid to realize the event is over. or from all of the stress the forgot about the signs they should have a license or it is illegal to leave up a sign in public

  3. in Canada election signs need to be removed immediately after an election or the party can face fines contact your local bylaw officer and they should be able to direct you to the proper channels IE municipal, provincial, federal agency it may be the same in the states.Worse tho is the bloody yard sale signs you may go hunting for a sale and get there only to find out it was 2 weeks ago.Okay driving around yard saling may be a waste to some of you but it is a form of recycling and reusing

  4. Pure and simple LAZINESS and couldnt care less attitude. or if its one or two then its probably been missed out by accident.

  5. Thats just polluting!  I am out raged!  Lets put up Signs!

  6. Bloody good question! Most people only think of the here and now and what money they can make at the time out of the event, they probably think a secret litter fairy will pick the mess up behind them. I bet they wouldn't do it in their own home? Hmmmmmm people ay!!!!!

  7. Sorry to hear they upset you so much.  Why don't you... oh, I don't know.... get over it, perhaps?  Why not worry about world poverty, pollution, the cost of petrol rocketing.  Put your anger to a more useful crusade.

    Just a thought.

  8. it is just laziness...i think that once an event is over they should have up to a week to remove the signs else the organisation should by fined

  9. As far as I'm aware, there is regulations to cover the removal of these signs.

No one bothers to in-force it however and that is why we are left with thing hanging from pillars & posts for ages after they've taken place.

    It really is annoying!
