  1. I know its a sensitive area... but what I think causes these problems (because yes Lewis did make a mistake) is the rules that have come into this place this year regarding the closure of the pitlane during a safety car period... it has cost so many people points (Rubens in Oz... Heidfeld in Spain.. Heikki everywhere!) and is essentially needless.. drivers never had issues with cars leaving the pitlane before... so why was it changed? If these stupid rules weren't in place then we could've had both Lewis and Kimi racing each other on the track... which is what we all want...

  2. Because they're biased.

I'm not a fan of either Lewis or Kimi, and the decision makes sense.

In fact I'm a fan of Sutil and I wouldn't like to see Kimi penalized for (almost) losing control of his car on the brakes.

It wouldn't make any sense whatsoever.

The job of an F1 driver is to drive on the limit and losing control is the penalty of going over the limit, surely that can't be penalized any further by the race stewards.

But disregard to the rules and not paying attention to a red light that is -according to the rules- there for safety reasons can and should be penalized so as not to be repeated by the same or other drivers.

  3. I'm with rosbif here. Those two incidences should not have been compared. They are completely different. Kimi and Sutil's incident happened on track, both cars were moving and thus called a racing accident. Kimi was struggling with the car and unfortunately Sutil hadn't cleared the corner.

As for Hamilton, I dunno where he was looking to have missed the red light. MAybe when he was heading for the exits, he saw the red lights. But he thought maybe by the time he got there the lights would've been green and thus didn't brake. Whatever the argument, he hit a stationary car.

Some people just can't face the truth of what happened. Some are just trying to accuse the FIA of being unfair again. It's always easier to blame someone than take the blame

  4. There really shouldn't be a comparison between the two accidents.

Kimi lost control of his car over the bump at the exit from the tunnel. Racing accident pure and simple. He'd have had an accident anyway, Sutil just happened to be in the way.

Hamilton was probably busy fiddling with something on the steering wheel and wasn't paying attention, hitting a stationary car in what was an avoidable accident.

Both sets of stewards made their decisions on suitable punishment within the rules laid down for them by the FIA, (no, one of the rules isn't "thou shalt favour Ferrari") so there can be no accusation of double standards.

  5. Rosbif got there first :)

  6. In essence they both screwed up big time. The issue is the definition of BIG v big. Kimi knew about the bump (about 50 laps - I think, not counting practice, last year, and so on...) and was prepared to risk his velocity into the chicane to try and get Sutil on one of the few spots he could pass - big - mistake. Hamilton knew he was in the pits under a safety car and could more than reasonably expect a red at the end of the lane. He had a brain flatulous moment - BIG - mistake.

  7. People do. unfortunately the idiots on here tend to either want to murder Kimi or murder Lewis. None of these troll types want to see their driver do wrong and none can admit it when they do. It gives all the Hamilton Haters ammunition, but when everyone else is bored with it they don't give up.

  8. sometimes people make mistake . even the greatest driver . don't have to compare one another . which one is worse . which one is more stupid to hit the front car . it's usual in formula one . although it's happen in the pit lane ..

  9. Most Hamilton fans will just accept that he messed up, a few will claim to see 'The Bigger Picture'.

It's just a contest now between Macca and Ferrari fans as to who can come up with the most idiotic conspiracy theory, Hamilton hit Kimi on purpose, Kimi didn't get penalised in Monaco and on and on.

It's getting harder and harder to enjoy Formula 1 with this constant bickering.

  10. Some are blind just like Lewis Hamilton, and they have no other excuse other that to say 'oh, Kimi did the same thing, blah, blah, blah...", and such incidents (Kimi-Sutil incident) happens invariably in almost every race. But in pit lane, Hamilton, you should be a genius to tailgate a stationary car.

  11. Because they are idiots.  Most proper fans from both sides have accepted it and have moved on..

  12. well, obviously anyone who hasn't moved beyond those mistakes aren't truly devoted F1 fans now are they!!!

Honestly why aren't more people happy for Kubica, or why aren't they thinking..."o, it's too bad we didn't get to see them compete?"

Well i guess it was kinda pointless for me to ask those questions, i already answered my own question....LOVE Kimi!!!

  13. People just cannot accept that their demi-god is capable of failing. And when it is too much evidenced like this, they go back to the time tested distractor called conspiracy theory. When conspiracy theories are hatched, common sense takes a backseat, folks get confused between racing track and pitlane.

Red lights become insignificant, silly and possibly timed by Luca Brasi...

What is lost in this needless debates are Massa's spectacular overtaking and Vettel's drive into points from the pitlane
