Why dont ppl know haiti?

im Haitian n when i tell ppl that they don't know what that is so i have to just say im French!

Well are you truly French?  Many Haitians are not.  My husband is Haitian and his father is biracial and half French.  Most Haitians don't even speak French.  (Only 15% of them actually speak French, though it's considered the "official" language.)  I did not know that until I met my husband.  Most of them speak Kreyol unless they truly are part French and learn it in the home, or are educated.  Everyone I know does know what it means to be Haitian.

i just answered a different question of yours regarding haiti. But um, I've been there.  I've been to the DR as well.

and yeah it must suck, most people are ignorant or just never had the need to know where haiti is, i mean its kind of under the radar as it is you know.

Same here, im from St.vinecnt and the grenadines and most people dont know what im talking about.(and by the way St.vincent and the Grenadines is in the Lesser Antilles)

Probably people don't know Haiti, the Dominican Republic or the Carribean islands because these were never studied or mentioned in the schools. Not much has been said about Cuba either because little or no news comes out of there. So many of our countrymen are not too well educated so that is also a hinderance. We hear of Great Britain, France ,Russia, India, China, the Middle East because journalists are quartered there.

When you'll become older, you'll understand why  people around the world  don't know Haiti,  and some others don't like Haiti.

Plenty of reasons for that. But the most significant is that we were the first to undertake what looked impossible at a time: free ourselves from their domination and their rules.

They haven't forgiven us and they will never.
