Why dont they bring the olympics to the USA? I think we'd make great hosts?

1904- St. Louis, MO

1932- Los Angeles, CA

1984- Los Angeles, CA

1996- Atlanta, GA

WInter Games:

1932- Lake Placid, NY

1960- Squaw Valley, CA/NV

1980- Lake Placid, NY

2002- Salt Lake City, UT

So the olympics have come to the US eight times in the past 110 Years. Are you seriously complaining?

i'm going to assume that you are too young to remember past olympics because the US has hosted at least 5 games...

The US has hosted the Olympics many times (Los Angeles, Upstate New York, Atlanta, Utah, just to name a few) and Chicago is a finalist among three other cities worldwide to host the Summer Olympics in 2016. The final decision is up to the IOC (international Olympic Committee).

Chicago is bidding for the 2116 olympics game. But I highly doubt that it will be held in the US. My favorite is Rio de janeiro

They do, periodically; we last hosted the Winter Games in 2002 ( Salt Lake City ) and the Summer Games in 1996 ( Atlanta ). The host sites are determined by the International Olympic Committee.

They did not long ago and there was a terrorist attack.  Luckily not much damage done but then they cought the wrong guy and it was a hige thing.

FYI, its been there before.

There are alot of countries that want to hold the olympics.....so the USA has to wait its turns. Plus its only ever 2 years (summer or winter)

And if your memory is really THAT short........the winters were held in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2002.  

And the summers in Atlanta, Georgia in 1996.

Been there and done that.  Most recently the summer games were held in Atlanta in 1996 and the winter games were in Salt Lake City in 2002.  Let the rest of the world have their due.
