  1. because Fahrenheit is better lol, i hope they never switch over cuz ill never understand it :P

  2. the government thinks that it would be too difficult to adjust to metric system, so they keep our ways despite that the rest of the world is metric.

  3. well, they just never found the need to swich over, and if they did it would take a while for us to get used to it.

  4. Every year in school since I was in 3rd grade we learned both systems. It was so easy to learn meters, celcius, etc. We were told it would cost too much to switch away from our current system, and that too many people did not understand it. That is why they were teaching us. When I got to college, it was the only system used for chemistry, biology, and all my nursing classes. It is lightyears easier, but we still do not change. We are a stubborn country.

  5. Because us Americans need to be different than the world and need to think we are on the top of everything and have the best everything and are too stubborn to change to the worldwide centigrade that everybody else uses.  I think we should also change the km instead of miles.

  6. because they like to keep me guessing

  7. Because we've always used Fahrenheit.  For the most part Americans do not like change and when you get something entrenched in our culture it's very hard to get it out.  Americans also don't like the idea of conforming to other peoples standards (even if the Centigrade system makes more sense).
