Why dont we feel huge electrical forces between ourselves and the objects around us?

  1. You are correct to wonder why, since the electric force is a strong one. And actually it is because it is so strong that we do NOT experience this charge. I mean that it is so strong that every proton and every electron are so strongly attracted to each other, that large imbalances in these two almost cannot exist.

    When we experience electrostatic charges, that comes from a tiny, Tiny TINY imbalance, and even at that level the charges will leap from object to object to equalize.

    You could imagine a large room with a thousand very Very thirsty people and a thousand glasses of water. You would not expect to find large groups of thirsty people or lots of unclaimed  glasses of water..

  3. because we are very minimally charged.

  4. Because we equal numbers of protons and electrons.
