I mean it all seems to be about surfing. There have got to be some skimboarders with questions.

  1. You're right. I never noticed it but skimboarding is becoming more and more popular these days.

  2. we dont need one

  3. Hmmm... there's not one for skating, body boarding, stand-up paddling or kite surfing either.  There are MANY more skaters and spongers than skimmers so if they don't get one neither do you.  Just post your questions here, if someone skims they'll answer it.

  4. because there isn't that much to ask abbout skim boarding, and skimboarders crowd the beaches too much

  5. I dont no but we should !

  6. Agreed.  I am a skimboarder and a section dedicated to skimboarding would be awesome!

On the informative side, I guess it's because most people think skimboarding IS surfing. But, of course, it isn't.

  7. because yahoo cant make a section for every sport. there would be hundreds of categories. skim boarding is a water sport, just put your Q's under water( NOT UNDER SURFING)

  8. hmm maybe when they created yahoo answers it just wasnt taken into consideration because it wasnt popular enough... or they wouldnt think people would ask skim boarding questions... who knows? why don't you contact yahoo answers?

  9. Haha John, funny answer.

Have you noticed there isn't one for skateboarding either? Obviously Yahoo! Answers cannot make a section for everything, especially something as meaningless as skimboarding.

  10. I love skim boarders! My son-in-law is an orthopedic surgeon, and broken wrists are always good for a few $$$$.

Seriously though, After 42 years of surfing, I could care less about skim boarding, and the same with a whole lot of surfers. Perhaps it's an unfair stereotype, but I see most skim boarders as obnoxious, yuppie 15 years olds who blockade the water, sliding back and forth, knocking over little old ladies, children and ME. They always seem to go for the most crowded portion of beach, and make walking into the surf like a combat obstacle course.

Okay, I know that's an extreme, and I am sure there are lots of great, polite, friendly, normal skim boarders. While it doesn't have any appeal to me, I guess it would be fair if the skim boarders wrote to yahoo and asked for their own section. I don't know, does the sport have enough different aspects to make it worthwhile? If it does, go for it. Good luck.
