  1. The real Truth is economics! The many companies that make really big dollars aren't about to let that happen. Don't let your political party make you believe anything else. Both of the major parties have their hands out and keep getting them filled, oh they say no I don't get it that money it is for my campaign, that is horse muffins if they don't use all of it who do you think is going to use that money? They are and they like that money to keep coming. I could have given that same answer for why the oil shortage. ONLY BECAUSE OF MONEY!

Note; there is no oil crunch, Please bear with me, there right now are many tankers sitting in the gulf of Mexico waiting to unload their crude oil, we can't refine it fast enough to allow them to go get more. There are not enough refineries, may were destroyed during Katrina and will not be repaired. Th last refinery was built in 1977 in Three Rivers Texas The oil industry won't be building very many refineries as long as they can get away not doing so, supple and demand holds the price high. I will also tell you that here in Texas we drill a lot of wells and find a lot of oil but then they cap it. This has nothing to do with our reserves.

Note: April 25  10:40 pm    I have no idea how old you are but I am over 60 by a few. Where I think that it is very important to find alternatives for energy I also know that in our country every thing is profit driven, what I am going to say you might think is really un related but it shows just exactly why this will never work. major retail store from coast to coast employed many folks a many of them were full time, some smart boy from Yale figured out that you could hire three people part time pay them less an hour and pay no benefits. One of the reasons for not wanting to go with this plan would be the unbelievable cost to put it into action. If it were mandated by the government many businesses would go out of business and if not they would down size considerably. If this was everyone problem (and it is) then the employer should be able to come to all of his employees and tell them that he is going to have to reduce their wages by 20% to pay for this but everyone should be quickly agree,...right? By the way this isn't a new concept. In the fifties when I went to school I read about a farm in Africa that used all of the waste from his animals, family and workers, and ran the farm, a large operation. He also sold energy to his neighbors. You might say a S****y deal that smelled like roses. I still say economics, the cost far greater that the reward, I am a native American and I would love to see you all clean up after yourselves and then keep it that way.

  2. If you read the article you will notice that without taxpayer subsidies, the process loses money and I suspect that is with all the feedstock donated.  Oil still makes money.  So the problem is economics.  A new process will never make it unless it makes money.  Taxpayers are not going to pay $5-6 per gallon when they can get gas at $3.  Also note they don't talk much about the pollution created by the process.  It is a good idea and should be explored, but it is not a substitute for the oil economy.

If they are paying $30 a ton, I would guess that is transportation, which means the material is free.  Even at $30, it is basically free.  If not, they need to look into hog waste.  They can have all of that they could use for free.

If this group will pay for ANY waste, transport it, and do what they say, I can sign over 100 companies up for the project.  They should leave me a request and I would be glad to contact them.  Economics is the only consideration.
