  1. Because most flies are diurnal - that is to say they do whatever it is that flies do, in the daytime and tend to disappear at dusk. By contrast mosquitoes are at their most active at this time.

  7. flies are tiny (obviously) and thus very sensitive to the cold.  if you put one in the fridge it will just lay there like a raisin.  they fly around well into the night if they can get into my house.

  8. Because after six it starts to get cool and flys like the hot weather.
