  1. Uhh your wrong, they do except maybe the ones YOU know. I know many 'youngsters' grandpa that are joining and I work with now.

    Get your facts straight....

  2. My 13 year old brother has wanted to be a Marine since I can remember, I'm considering joining, I'm 15, and my 18 year old brother is thinking about it. But if I don't join the Marines I want ot serve my country somehow.

  3. Interesting, since the recruitment numbers are not only being met but in many cases are being exceeded.  What is your source?

  4. Because most of today's youth can't live without their video games, blackberries, and Starbucks coffee. They'd rather sit in a coffee shop complaining about the world rather than join something that has true meaning. I'm an Army recruiter in the Atlanta area and I get alot of people who say "**** naw man I'm gonna play in the NFL". Do these people really see or hear themselves they sound like true ignorant people who would rather spend all the money they have on new cloths then get into a career. Welcome to the MTV generation! What has the young American public come to.

What they don't realize is if they won't join who will? Everyone thinks somebody else will do it but the fact is they just go back and forth. I had a guy who wanted to join so badly that he continued to push the subject. After finally getting him qualified to join which he did he decided not to go because his girlfriend didn't want him to leave. These people are too d**n shallow with no understanding of responsibility.

  5. You dont do this job for the Thanks and Gratification.

  6. because we dont want to die. even though i respect our troops, i dont want to be one of them. i have my whole life ahead of me

  7. They would have to get off the couch and maybe go outside to get there.  Can't they just tie a ribbon on their laptop?  I personally think boot camp of any branch should be a prerequisite to driving.  That should help the gas situation and clear up traffic too.

  8. Thanks to the explosion of information available to youngsters these days, they can make more informed choices about their lives. They know that there are other ways to serve your country and help your fellow citizens than by just joining the military. Many of them have been disillusioned by our poor foreign policies & have done the research into why we are waging war in the middle east and who exactly is profiting from it. Some are serving their country by speaking out against the government and its actions that are harming all Americans. Some are volunteering at soup kitchens and homeless shelters for those who can't afford the high prices of food nowadays. Some are even taking in friends and family who have lost their homes due to foreclosure, job loss, gas prices, etc. I can't find fault with them because they don't want to join the army and elect these other ways of serving.

  9. Why would someone want to go over and make such a sacrafice and risk their life to be insulted and attacked and called a n**i and murderer by Nancy Pelosi and other liberal democratic politicians. I want no part of it. Not enough people appreciate what our troops are doing.

  10. sorry but i dont think they wanna die.

  11. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm 15 years old, and the day I graduate high school, my *** is going to join the Army.

  12. Because a lot of them realize the current military adventure is a lousy cause, launched over mistake, if not a lie.

If Iraq were the vital, important struggle its cheerleaders claim it is, you'd have droves of people signing up.

As it is, you're mainly getting people who don't have any better options.

The services have had to lower their standards at that.  That's the only way they can make their quotas.

  13. because they fear to end up risking their lives, fighting, not for the sake of their country but for the sake of protecting the interest of selfish personalities.

  14. If someone like Hitler emerges, most people of military age will join up.  Many fewer people want to die in unnecessary wars like 'Nam or Iraq.
