  1. Aug 15, 1947, we aquired 'Independence' and Jan 26, 1951, we adopted the Constitute, 'The Republic Day'.

  2. The Constitution of India came into force, and India declared itself as a "Republic" on January 26, 1950, a date thereafter celebrated annually as Republic Day in India.

The Constitution came into being that day. Started working.

This, in fact, was a deliberate act:

the 26th of January 1930, was initially declared as a mark of protest  by hoisting the Flag by the Cingress.

It was  one of Mahatma Gandhi's many symbolic acts during India's struggle for freedom against British colonial rule, and the adoption of the Constitution on this date was felt able to strengthen its initial meaning, one calling for Indians of all ages to declare their freedom from the British Raj.

We did get independence on 15th Aug. But the struggle was started on 26th Jan.

  3. You have mistaken,on 15 August is independence day day ( India got Independence from Britishers) and 26 January they celebrate their Republics, the institution was start working on 26 January 1953.

  4. 26 jan is the republic day celebration, this is the day when the indian constitution was written or rather implimented.15 aug is the day when british left india.so both are entirly diff and don't confuse them with each other.
