  1. Have you cleared your history or temporary internet files lately?  Go to Tools, Internet Options and use the Delete Files and Clear History buttons to clean up excessive files on your disk that will cause IE to slow down.  You should probably delete some of the cookies too, but you need to be selective or you may delete stuff you actually need (like Yahoo recognizing you).  Use the Settings button, then View Files and delete the ad related ones.


  2. Maybe because there are a lot of programs that have to be downloaded to your system.

    Maybe because your browsers cache is too full.  If that's it, clear your cache, cookies and temporary files.

    Click on Tools->Internet Options.  Look at the lower half of this dialog box for the History Section.

    Then clean, scan and defrag.
