Why dose my HP Pavilion dv6000 screen go dark when I remove battery cable?

It only goes bright when I plug the cable and dark when I unplug it..

It is really irritating I can hardly see!!

click on your power options and change the setting from power save to high performance

many of the laptops I support do the same thing. I think its part of the OS trying to adjust for power settings.

I support a mix bag of laptops, XP Pro and Vista business and they all do the same thing except dim and go bright when you toggle the power cable on and offf.

if your display is really bad when you run off battery, and if your laptop is more then a year old, spring for the new battery. don't make your eyes hurt by making them work harder to squint at the display.
