Why dose my Mac. keep shutting down at random?

I'm on the internet or on a program and all of a sudden my mac just shuts down. Without warning. Is there something wrong and can I fix it? I'm running Leopard. HELP PLEASE!!!!

  1. My PC does that when I'm running several different things at one and it gets hot. Make sure all the vents and fans are breathing ok and maybe limit the number of programs you run at a single time.


  2. Just make sure you are plugged into a power source, that you computer isn't overheating, and that you aren't maxing out the computers capabilities. If the problem doesn't go away, than I would suggest taking it to a mac-repair shop and see what they find.

  3. How old is it? My macbook is about 2 years old, and the battery is going, so it will randomly shut down if not plugged in.

    If your computer is still covered by Apple Care, they will fix it for you.
