  3. Most of the time when a computer freezes it is because of insuffenient memory.  also knowen as RAM which is short for random access memory.

If you have Window's vista you can use a flash drive for a boost in memory.   it is called the readyboost feature inside of windows vista.  BUT THE FLASH DRIVE HAS TO BE READYBOOST COMPATIBLE

As for XP I can't help you there.

All the stuff we have our computers doing now-days requires alot more memory...  than in the old days when it was all text data.

  4. Need alittle more info.........

  5. To much on the disk? defrag. it may help

put things in order, and get rid of loose bits.

    Start.,..accessories..,.system tools..,.disk defrag..

could take a while to run, if in a state.

  6. Usually it is due to not having enough RAM memory on board.  Nowadays the computer programs on the market use a lot of RAM and will slow down your computer.  You can do a couple of things... you can close down all the programs you are not using by going to your Windows Task Manager (hit Ctrl Alt Del keys) and click on the applications tab, then click on any programs that might be running in the background that you are not currently using.  Then click on end task at the bottom of the screen.  This should help.  If not, you may need to add more RAM memory.  It is fairly inexpensive.  I found that the best place to purchase it is at a website called www.crucial.com.  They can tell you what your particular application is and get you the right one.  If you have all the memory you need and it still freezes, you may need memory allocation software or a new computer.  Some outdated computers just run slow and will often freeze up if you ask it to do more than one thing at a time.  Hope this helps.  Good luck, alaskakiki55

  7. From your grammatial errors, I'd say it's your brain freezing, and nothing to do with the computer.
