Why dose my elect. outlet spark when I plug something into it?

it only happens when I use a the three prong plug from my computer. Also speakers pop when I turn light switch on

  1. There is a problem with the electric circuit somewhere.  Better have it checked out before you burn the house down.

  3. If its a small spark, it is probably from the in-rush current to the power supply re-charging the capacitors.  If it's a big spark you might want someone to take a look at the computer.  It's unlikely the outlet itself is bad.

    The little pop on the speakers is due to bad shielding on either your sound card or the wire going from the computer to the speakers. It is picking up and amplifying the "noise" created when the light switch makes electrical contact. Also, if you have fluorescent lights, they can cause a little "pop"

    If the noise is extremely loud, that's a different story.

  4. you have a short in the wires call an electrician! this can be a very serious fire hazard!
