Why draft any of these guys???

Will you draft any of these guys below cuz I sure won't;

-Frank Gore: not good, bust written all over; especially with Lynch, Portis, Barber III, and probably Brady available

-Larry Johnson: same as Gore, great players available instead

-Willie Parker: injury, sucked last year and they've got Mendenhall

-Laurence Maroney: too many people in the backfield and they throw a lot

- Brandon Jacobs: runningback by committee plus he's too high up

-Julius Jones: he'll split carries on a pass heavy offense

-Jay Cutler: not a good fantasy option, overrated

-Eli Manning, Matt Schaub, Marc Bulger: why? I'd rather have Garrard than all of them.

-Taking a kicker before the last round: no reason to, last round is for kickers

-Taking a D/ST early: unpredictable similar to kickers

What are your thoughts on these...

  1. Gore- Not a bad player, i wouldnt pick him because as San Fran gets worse so does he

LJ- Injured it seems every game.

Willie Parker- I have him as a bust, he nver gets alot of TDs and Mendenhall will get the ball in the redzone.

Laurence Maroney- 1,2,3 diff players to compete with- LaMont Jordan, Sammy Morris, and Kevin Faulk

Jacobs- Ahmad Bradshaw, Derrick Ward both will get carries this season

Jay Cutler- May not have Marshall for 2-4 games, run a lot with their Runningbacks although maybe not anymore cuz their goin RBBC

Eli- only player on the list i would take simply because he just won the SB and that can only give him confidence.

    Matt Schaub- Bad team, overrated

    Marc Bulger- too injury prone

Taking a kicker before the last round- there is no reason to, but you have too because everybody does so u wont get a good kicker

Taking a DST early- only top 3 after that only take 12+ round.

Another guy i would throw in there is LenDale White of Tennessee.

LenDale White- I know what your saying about young being the worst QB in the league pass wise but does tennessee score a lot... NO! last year they ranked 22nd out of 32 teams in points scored/ game with 18.8 so thats about 1 td and 4-5 FG a game with a stretch of 2 TDs a game they even ranked lower than Chicago in points/ game.

Julius Jones- i would certinately draft him as a bench guy since he wants to start over new with seattle he could have a breakout year.

    Top 15 Kickers:

    1. Nick Folk (DAL)- usually gone by 9th round

    2. Josh Brown (STL)- gone in 9-11th rounds

    3. Stephen Gostkowski (NE)-gone in 10-11th rounds

    4. Mason Crosby (GB)- gone in late 11th early 12th round

    5. Adam Vinitieri (IND)- he might be a final round steal

    6. Nate Kaeding (SD)- usually gone with crosby

    7. Robbie Gould (CHI)- gone in same rounds as Crosby but slides to 13th if ur lucky

    8. Shayne Graham- Doesn't get many oppertunities, overrated

    9. Rob Bironas (TEN)- only player on the list you can get in last round

    10. Josh Scobee (JAC)- not worth drafting

  2. My opinion is that Gore will bounce back this year for 1,000 yards and 7 TDs.

  3. Well all of those guys   would most deffitly draft its just a question of how early. All of the guys that you mentioned were over hyped last year. If they fall down low enough in the draft I would grab them with out a doubt. I agree with what you said on kickers, and for DEF, if you dont get one of the good ones thats when you draft a DEF very late and just play the matchup each week

  4. Gore - I wouldn't draft him first round by any means, but he can be a very good back with the right match up. I would take him for my #3 or 4 RB.

Larry Johnson - So he was injured for half of last season. That doesn't mean he won't be back as good as he was the previous 2 years. He had over 1,700 yards both those seasons and 37 TDs between the 2. The Chiefs will lean on him again now that he is healthy. You can call him a bust all you want. He is a #1 RB until he proves otherwise.

Willie Parker - "sucked last year" ??? He rushed for over 1,300 yards. If you are in a yahoo fantasy league, that's an average of 8 points per game. No, he didn't score a lot of TDs last year compared to the 13 he had the year before. But, again, if the match up is right, he can produce. I wouldn't get all in love with Mendenhall just yet. He hasn't played a down in the NFL.

Maroney - I have to agree with you on him, not a good pick in any round.

Brandon Jacobs - He rushed for over 1,000 yards in just 11 games. Has the Giant offense changed since January?

Are they doing something so different that Jacobs won't play the same role as he did 6 months ago?

Jacobs will start, and he will plow through everyone, and he is huge, so he will get the red zone and goal line carries.

Julius Jones - Again, I wouldn't draft him in the first rounds, but I picked him up for the bench. He is anxious to make the most of his opportunity to start in Seattle that Dallas never gave him.

Cutler - Your exactly right on him.

Eli Manning - Correct - everyone acts like he is some awesome QB because he was in the Super Bowl. He is average at best.

Schaub - Definately not a starter, I wouldn't pick him up for back up either.

Bulger - back up maybe, if the match up is right. He doesn't have the weapons to throw to he used to have.

    That's my 2 cents worth.

  5. Got the time? One year, I took the Bucs with my 2nd pick (everyone thought I was crazy). In all but 2 weeks, they scored more than 30 fantasy points and as much as 42. More fantasy points than any player on my team or others.  Nothing wrong with Gore or Jacobs, loads of fantasy points (goal line touches) even if by committee. Larry Johnson not what he used to be but will make a fine benchwarmer. Parker, when healthy will pick up a lot of yards. Maroney will see plenty of action near the goal line and he will receive also. It is u who overrates Cutler, and he's only going to get better. Jones is a great talent and he could wind up being the #1 rb on the team. Good to have on the bench. I always liked Gerrard before he became a starter. Problem with him, he turns the ball over too often. Manning is a genuine starter, Bulger could be a real star  (like he used to be) or a real bust. I turned down a trade for him a couple of years ago and the guy who had him went to heaven that year. Schaub is not an elite  but would be nice to have on the bench. I almost agree with u on your kicker assessment. I'd personally would choose my kicker before my te. A kicker on a team that doesn't score many td's is a real asset. Te's catch only 2 or 3 passes a game. There are a lot better players than the ones you listed, but by the time you get past the 5th or 6th round,  These guys will be the top players still available. Some of them  will have already been  selected.
