Why drive slowly in passing lane?

Why do people drive slowly in th epassing lane? I don't understand this. Is it because they are ignorant to the rules of the road or because they are totally inconsiderate and feel as though they can make up their own rules regardless of how it affects others? This happens all the time where I live and it makes me furious. If someone wants to drive 5mph below the speed limit thats fine but why can't they do it in the travelling lane?

  1. A lot of the drivers are the elderly, or the teenagers [like myself.] I don't like driving really fast even in the passing lane because I haven't driven very long, but I like driving a little slower and being safe than driving fast and being a threat on the road, you know?

Sorry for the inconvience, but don't you remember learning to drive? You never know what other drivers are going to do...

  2. Because they're the "tunnel vision" drivers who only see what's directly in front of them. Many people believe that you can never be going too slow, but the fact is if you're in the passing lane doing 55mph when the speed limit is 65mph, you're a d**n road hazard and should move right, hit the gas, or sell your car and buy a bus pass.

Roselyn, yes learning how to drive is sometimes daunting, but if you're going to move slowly, you shouldn't be in the passing lane in the first place. It's called the PASSING lane for a reason.
