einstein isn't necessarily considered the most smartest, but he had a heck of an imagination. there were probably dozens of scientists with higher iq's working on the same problem as einstein, but he used his imagination to conquer these difficult concepts.

I read his autobiography and to paraphrase Einstein he simply had an undying curiosity and refused to stop asking questions and trying to find answers.

It's reputed that he also had Aspergers Syndrome, parts of his brain presented a certain type of structure which "Aspies" may share.
