Why engine stops when car is stopped on lights?

The engine of my car stopped when I stoped on red lights. Could starter of the car be a course for that?

  1. there is no possible way the starter could cause that.. NO POSSIBLE WAY>> anyway all the starter does is START the car.. i would say u have a vaccuum leak.. do you also notice rough idle and/or check engine illuminated..


  2. Clean the intake air control (iac) valve.  Its mounted on the throttle body and regulates the amount of air entering the engine at engine.  They can get fouled up easily.  Disconnect it and spray the inside with throttle body cleaner.
