Why english-cypriot people put lion statues in their houses when they come back in cyprus?

  1. They don't and I don't think you are a Cypriot.

    The only ones that use some kind of flag or symbol are the mainland Greeks and the Greek Cypriots that came back from South Africa. They put a sticker with the new flag of South Africa on their cars.


  2. Hi Kyriako, if you didnt know already, the three national symbols of England are the St. George's cross, the red rose and the Three Lions crest. So i am guessing having Lion statues symbolizes their patrionism :)

  3. Do they really? I haven't noticed that before. My neighbours in Cyprus are english- cypriots and have nothing related with lions in their house. I guess it has to do something with England if they do..Or they just visited Africa and bought a lion statue as a souvenir from there :)  

    I will take a closer look next time l visit them.

  4. i am not 100% sure but ..the lion is a symbol of england..so i would say it would be a singn that to show to others that this person is associated with england!!!
