Why everyone at the Embassy or Imigration office is so sassy?

Im just common citizen who ask how to travel, not the one who ask for political asylum....aaaarrrrgh!

because if you are going to the us or canada everyone wants to come.

They are overworked and underpaid and they are trained to treat everyone with rigidity and without favoritism.

I was taught that a civil servant's job is to intelligently and effectively administer every stupid ineffective law that applies.  There can be no exceptions, for to make any would be to disenfranchise the people who voted for the legislators who made the stupid draconian laws in the first place.  

You will not find the word "reasonable" in the Immigration and Visa laws, therefore the agents are not permitted to be reasonable.  There is considerable pressure on each agent to be even more rigid and unreasonable since the 9/11 hijackers came here on legal visas.
