Why exactly are we forbidden to wear white on labor day?

i never really knew why. i mean i know what labor day is but what the h**l does it have to do with colors. and would i recieve evil glances and stares if i happened to wear white because i may just feel rebellious that day

  2. Even the fashion mavens have put the kabosh to that rule of no white after Labor Day.  Wear whatever you want.

  3. Wear whatever you want.  A long time ago it was etched in stone.  Not any more.  People used to consider white , pastels, etc. for warm months and dark colors for fall and winter.

  4. it doesn't really matter and it only really applies to bottoms. after labor day passes though, it's concidered a cooler season and you should wear darker colors more into the season. once easter comes and it's spring time again, then white is a more accepted color to be worn. i doubt half of the american population understands the "white after labor day" rule, so you won't get any glares. go ahead, do it. i dare you. ;] what's the worst that can happen? the fashion police will come and rip your pants? sure... :D
