i am asking for a general thinking, face is the centre of body's beauty, we judje the beauty by the face, ( and it is also proven by this point that we give 90% attention on facial make up), if it attracts someone, and definetly it does, than why niqab is not a requirement to save onself, from the bad eyes.take it as a psychological way, not necessar in religious way.

  1. As a matter of what I think, is that face is the centre of attraction but again you said it attracts more glares by make up. At the time when women do male up they should hide their faces from Namehram glares... that's why make up is considered Haram, its not acctually haram but it is haram when you think a Namehram can see it.

The natural look is allowed to be seen as long as you do what you are supposed to do!

  2. Ok, it's general thinking, Why don't handsome men wear niqab too? they may attract women.

  3. 'course niqab is obligatory....as a shiite i can tell u that but i dunno 'bout sunni brothers n sisters..... but as Hazrat Fatima (a.s) used to do it v shiites think of it as an obligation....n one more think i'm talkin 'bout the practical shiites as i always talk 'bout practical muslims only.

  4. IMHO its because ur not the only person with a face - wherever you go there'll always be heaps of other women. And I don't think you become attracted to someone just by looking at their face; bodies and personality play a big part in attraction as well I think that's why the hijab is compulsory and not the niqab. I dunno man, that's just my opinion ^^

  5. That's a question after my own heart. I always wonder why people don't understand this simple logic. It is the main thing that makes people get into fitnah.

For those who want the proof from Islamic sources:

'A'isha radi Allah anha used to say: "When (the Verse): 'They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms', was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces."(Hadith-Shahi Bukhari 6:282)

As for the argument that Mary (A.S) didn't wear the veil, it doesn't matter. The Sharia'ah that was revealed to Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is the last one, and we are not to follow the sharia'ahs of the previous ummahs.

  6. First of all the face is beautiful but not necessarily considered "sexual" like the body.

Also Mary (may Allah bless her) showed her face

"And she came to her people with him, carrying him (with her). They (having recognized her) said: ‘O Mary! surely you have done a strange thing. O sister of Haroon! your father was not a bad man, nor, was your mother an unchaste woman.’ But she pointed to him. They said: ‘How should we speak to one who was a child in the cradle?’ He (Jesus) said: ‘Surely I am a servant of Allah; He has given me the Book and made me a prophet." (19:27-30)

Mary's recognition by her people indicates that she was not wearing a "Niqab" to protect her face from being seen.

**In the Qur'an there is further evidence which negates the practice of wearing "Niqab". After Allah informs Nabi (SAW) about marriage with certain relations He further reminds:

"It is not allowed to you to take women afterwards, nor that you should change them for other wives, though their beauty be pleasing to you, except what your right hand possesses and Allah is Watchful over all things." (33:52)

In the above verse it is clearly mentioned that Nabi (SAW) was also in a position to see the "Husn" i.e. Beauty of women and this clearly establishes that women not related to the Prophet did not wear "Niqab" or veils to cover their faces when they used to appear in front of him. We must realize that attributing anything to Allah which He has not ordained is a very serious action on our part. Allah has informed us through His messenger that attributing anything to Allah which He did not made as an obligation is "haraam" i.e Forbidden, as the following verse states:

~also people focus on your face because it's considered more respectful in most cultures
