If you are religious many have a nirvana awaiting and often there is a theme of suffering on earth so it is pretty much an upgrade. In the case of abortion it would be better than living life of bouncing through foster homes or unstable family life. Even in the best cases I would think nirvana would be better. For those on the multi life cycle groups you just pop up somewhere else. For people going to a better place we sure do fight it. I am not saying off yourself life has many interesting moments and I figure while I'm here I'll might as well enjoy it and do some good ,but in the grand scheme there are a thousand lifetimes blink in the cosmic eye. Just looking for thoughts.

  1. I don't necessarily fear death. I took a class on Death and Resurrection in college and it enlightened me and really made me feel more comfortable about the topic.  Death is looked at as the full manifestation of man and man's ultimate accomplishment so to speak. The only thing that frightens me is that feeling of infinite loneliness.  I think I came close to dying once, and that feeling was something I really don't want to have to feel again. I'd rather die in my sleep.

  2. yes it is an adventure but nobody returned after taking that path so it scares some people because they don't know what really lies ahead, we have ideas but those are just ideas. other great adventures have people to tell about the advnture, how great it was but Death? I've never heard of someone say "Oh Death was a really great experience, you should try it!" But that's what makes it the great adventure, right? At least religious people have something to believe in after they are dead, where they are going after death, stuff like that.

  3. To me, life itself is the great adventure and death and whatever comes after, is only the prize.

Life is what you make of it as you walk along the path. If you attempt to help and are kind to all you meet along the way, you have collected trophies, in the form of friends, thus making the journey a pleasure. Life can be a classroom, full of wonder and always a surprise when a new revelation is found. When you walk through the forests and see a bird flying, you are seeing a wonder, or a grasshopper. Life can be beautiful if you will only let it be.
