Everyone needs to be educated nowadays.  The days when you could get by perfectly well without being able to read and write are gone.

In the 16th century for example, about two-thirds of men and four-fifths of women could not write, but they got along perfectly well without it.  You can't do that any more, so education is necessary whatever your gender.

Fe male education has always been important.  Girls are out performing boys in school and in the sciences these days.  There is always choice to grasp opertunity in life and maybe girls have been raised to believe that they don't just need to marry well.

I agree with Rebel F. This is not a real question. It is a prejudice ending in a question mark instead of a period. The unbiased question will be why educatioin is necessary. And the answer is obvious. Education is important because it:

1. Exposes us to the results of the trials and errors of human history that has produced our civilization of today so that we don't repeat the failures and we propagate and add to the successes.

2. Knowledge is not only power, it is a means to make a living and survive.

3. Knowledge gives individuals opportunity and options. Which is why we should want everyone, not just ourselves educated b/c lack of opportunity and options leads to crimes and no one wants to be on the recieving end of a criminal.

4. The society produced by the enlightened is the society of progress that we all want to live in.

5. Our current society is possible b/c we learned from the past and built on it. We did not have to start from scratch everytime. That is why it is said that the invention of language and writing is the greatest aid to our science and technology.

Because women are nearly 50% of the work force in developed countries, the work force needs to be educated.  And in developing countries they have more work options if they can at least read and write.  

Everyone needs an education - for example years ago when towns were getting the highway department to put their names on street signs - my town got misnamed.  The guys were out with the highway signs and got them mixed up.   None of the workers could read.  So a town two towns down- that has no view of the falls -  is named Falls View and we have their name!

For the same reason that male education is important nowadays.  Your s*x does not determine how important/unimportant it is to educate you; it is important to educate EVERYBODY.
