  1. when were girls, we like to be the best...what we wear, what we have, we want it tobe better than anyone else..so do in studying..i dunno bout the others but for me, i like to be the best, n i like to compete with others in my class to see who is better, who is more brilliant..i mean we as a girl like to compete n to be the last one  especially in studying matters it would be a nightmare..

furthermore we can have a better job in the future..

  2. Probably the fact that most school systems are tailored to fit girls (homework and assignment based instead of test based)

Girls do better on assignments, boys to better on tests, and since assignments play such a bigger part as a whole than tests in school generally, you'll probably see girls having higher GPA's.

Or we could just say girls are smarter than boys lol.

  3. TERA SAID IT ALL I TOTALLY AGREE WITH HER THEORY I AM A MOTHER AND 29 I WENT TO SCHOOL RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL AND I DID OK I HAD  AN AVERAGE OF 4.0 AR FIRST UNTIL I STARTING MEETING PEOPLE AND GOING DOWN THE SOCIAL ROAD AND PUT OFF MY STUDIES UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE THEN IT WENT DOWN TO 2.7 I DROPPED OUT AND NOW RETURNED AND I  NOW HAVE A 4.0  ON THE DEANS LIST . I CHALK MY IMPROVEMENT THAT I AM MORE MATURE AND NOT DISTRACTED BY THE SOCIAL ASPECT OF COLLEGE   BEEN THERE DONE THAT,

I THINK THAT EVERYONE HAS THE ABILITY TO HAVE GOOD GRADES IT JUST DEPENDS ON THEIR DETERMINATION OF WANTING TO BETTER THEMSELVES  AND TO BE  DISCIPLINED ENOUGH TO NOT PUT OFF STUDYING  OR WRITING THAT PAPER INSTEAD THEY GO TO THE PARTY OR CHOOSE TO SLEEP IN  AND NOT GO TO 8 AM CLASSES.

ALSO THE OLDER PEOPLE ARE HAVING TO PAY MORE OUT OF THEIR POCKET THEY AREN'T GOING TO WASTE THAT, I AM LUCKY WITH THAT I AM NATIVE AMERICAN MY TRIBE PAYS IN FULL INCLUDING BOOKS IF I DROP BELOW 3.0 THEN THEY ONLY PAY SO MUCH SO THAT ALSO MOTIVATES ME,

  4. I wish I could e-mail you, but I cant. I have a question for you, do you hate men? I want to learn more about you and your views. I personally believe that the differences in men and women are fairly "trivial". Men tend to think with their "wisdom" or lack of it, and women tend to think with their "hearts" or emotions....sometimes too much. Men and women "do" have different mind-sets, but "generally" how a person behaves, performs,or thinks is really dependant on things like background,home-life,habits, ect.

In my bold opinion, women are human beings with arms, legs, and all the major organs. Men are human beings with arms, legs, and all the major organs......except we have a "p***s". A women could be a better athlete than a man, and a man could be a better athlete than a woman, this depends on "training" habits. School is the same. Everything is based on what "surrounds" the specimen. Surroundings make up who "we" are.

  5. I asked my sociology teacher this very question (because it's a topic that's come up time and time again in the gender and women's studies forum here at Y/A), and he said that there are more women entering college that are single mothers striving to improve the standard of living for their families-  by getting an education that will help them attain a higher paying job.  Looking around the classroom I noticed this:  out of 18 students in the class, 10 were women.  Out of the ten who were female, nine were women over the age of 30.  This seems to support his theory.  He also said that single moms who enter college at a later age (vs. kids right out of high school) tend to do better, grade-wise.  Why?  Because they are highly motivated to achieve.  They are there because they really want to be there, and they work very hard for the best education/training possible.  And, they are not distracted by social activities, (like boys, dances, sporting events, parties, etc) . It's not that girls are smarter than boys.  In a college situation, it's about age, experience, motivation, focus,  and determination.  And single moms really seem to have all of that.

  6. Now we are encouraging girls to become better students and learn more as a part of the feminist movement, and leaving our boys behind.

As opposed to when women only cooked and cleaned and the men went out to earn the money.

  7. I am a professional educator, and I have worked in five countries.  In Western countries, education for the past 20 years has distinctly favoured the general learning patterns of girls.  There are also, in many universities, programmes to favour girls entrance into traditional male dominated courses such as engineering and science.

My view here is not politically correct, but notice that there are courses to help them to excel and advance.  Any male orientated courses/programmes in schools are remedial and designed to try and get disaffected boys up to scratch in terms of literacy.  Naturally the extent of such programmes varies depending on your country/state.

Boys schools generally do a better job of educating males, but co-ed schools programmes are designed with teaching girls in mind.  Teaching degrees are full of electives on girls education, but lacking in any particular ways of wholly educating boys so that remedial courses become redundant.

Naurally, it is difficult to say this because it is not fashionable to think that boys learn differently from girls.  In my state (Victoria, Australia) there are girls only government schools.  There are NO boys only government schools  and no plans for such.

I consider that, and the abandonment of boys education to be a modern travesty, tragedy and shame.
