Why flick do people flick off random people from their cars?

Me and friends were walking down this street and a whole bunch of cars that passed by honked and then stuck up their middle fingers at us. This happens a lot actually, like every time we go out walking in our neighborhood. What is the point of this. Btw, we're not old, fat, or ugly, so yeah.

Oh, you know how immature some people can be > they're no doubt just doofusses who get their jollies by doing this, mostly to get attention.  

If you wanted to reply, just turn around & bend over.    Though, they might stop & think you were interested.  

My thought here, it'd better to walk where you not bothered by cars>> maybe a park or nature center??
