Why get upset with those who say the paranormal and ghosts do not exist?

Okay just to clear things up I do believe in the paranormal and have had many experiences and have seen my share of ghosts, but I do not get upset when unbelievers laugh at me and say it does not exist because their opinion does not effect my experiences.

I don't think everyone can experience the paranormal. So those who do not are unfortunate in my opinion so why get upset?

  1. I only get upset when those who feel the need to insult those of us who believe. Otherwise, I just ignore the comments. I know what's real and I don't feel a need anymore to prove it to anyone.

But I think that some people who may be still new to believing might get so upset when someone says it isn't real because it makes them question their reality. That's a hard thing to get through at first, and is in fact very normal when the spirit world is just beginning to prove itself to you. You go through a phase where you question your reality, "am I really seeing/feeling/hearing this?" I say to them, ignore those who taunt you and allow the spirit world to show itself to you. Your questions will be answered.... in the fullness of time.

    peace and love to all

    EDIT:

BABY RUTH: I don't hate you and I'm not pissed at you. You are very obviously quite welcome to have a different opinion. What does make me sad is that you feel so threatened you feel the need to resort to insulting. Your statement was a much stronger stance without the line that tells us we need to get our heads examined.

  2.   I don't get upset.I just believe they are mistaken. They can believe in anything they want .We still have that freedom.

But, ppl who feel they have to come on a paranormal forum and rant and rave, about how supid ppl are,or preach their doctrines definitely have serious issues. It would be the equivalent of an athiest walking into a church and shouting "There is no God".  Or a Christian going to a meeting of paleontologists, and proclaiming the literal interpretation of Genisis as scientific fact. Those actions  indicate problems between the ears. Again, I am not condemning, they should just examine their motives, and why they feel so strongly about it.

  3. That's just it, they haven't experienced it yet.

And yet there are thousands that have.

The thing that discredits our accounts are the pranksters and hoaxers.

It's like the few that have experienced alien abduction; and how do most of us feel about that?

  4. I think Einstein said it all about non believers.

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious…He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed " (Albert Einstein]

  5. Because they are wasting their God Given Talents!

Same reason why I get pissed when people give money to winoes.

To allow them to continue in a non-productive manner is not worth of my time. They can either learn or shut up.

Secondly if we let those idiots walk all over us it is a sign of weakness. No, I'll have my say they'll have their say but if it doesn't stop there that is when there is trouble.

  6. i used to get upset a few yrs ago when people basically made fun or dissed my beliefs, but i guess eventually those of us that do believe find a kind of peace within themselves, either through experience or just by gaining enough knowledge to be open to both sides of the argument.

whilst we would all like to be believed, i actually enjoy a skeptical view on things, it keeps me on my toes and allows me to view things from a different view point.

there is nothing wrong with skeptism as long as both parties still remain  respectful of each other views.

  7. Please remember to be as generous to those who believe in alien abductions, satanic possession, cattle mutilations, Bigfoot and the Chupacabra.

  8. First off, it is human nature to question things we can not see or touch.  We base everything we do by life experiences, so there will always be those who question what they have not experienced.

I believe age is also a factor for those who get mad, upset or mock other people for what they believe in or have experienced in their personal life.  Base things on what you see or hear.  If it is to good to be true then it usually is.  But, it is how you throw the BS flag that is important....be kind, be nice and have fun with it all.

  9. I personally do not get upset by people saying they do not believe in the paranormal. I am not at all sure myself, but I will tell the story of an actual event which took place in my life in the days after my mother died. I was naturally very upset, particularly as I was unable to locate an important envelope which was needed for legal purposes.I went to bed one night, and in a "dream" my mother appeared and spoke to me telling me exactly where to look, and saying she was watching over me, and not to worry. The next day I looked where I had been shown, and everything was there.

  10. For some people, when someone takes a different stance on an issue, it is upsetting because their belief system requires that others believe the same things. (this is true for many many people)

When you come across another person who has a drastically different view it naturally forces you to reexamine your own beliefs. Which in my opinion is a good thing.

None of us know all there is to know, so its good to be challenged and have our mind stretched by philosophies and concepts that are different than our own.  It doesn't mean that you need to adopt the new belief as your own, change your belief or even modify it. Just the critical thinking process helps us grow.

I think the key part is that questions and answers should be written in a way that is respectful to the other people in this section irregardless of their beliefs. Afterall, everyone who visits this section has an interest in the paranormal, so that connects us no matter what end of the spectrum we sit.

    I hope that helps. :)

  11. When I hear people laugh and deny the existence of such things, I just shake my head and feel sorry for them. I do feel that I am very fortunate to have had many experiences as well, things that were mind blowing and have changed my life in a good way.

I guess I don't get upset with those that mock, because my mother is the greatest mocker alive and I've had to deal with her. I just don't talk about these things anymore unless I feel reasonably sure the person I talk to is receptive to it.

  12. I get upset with those who say the paranormal exists.  So feel free to be pissed at me.  This c**p doesn't exist.  Get your head checked.

  13. well it can ruffle your feathers. i don't let that get to me.i have too many experiences and because of one of them i started to realize that i am a medium. so i am a believer in spirit people and ghosts. these two categories spirit people are people who are no longer in the physical. ghosts are demons and poltergeists.

  14. I know what you mean. All my answers on here explaining that paranormal activities are psychological get a thumbs down and loads of pissed off dudes.

  15. It is natural for some people to attack what they don't understand and has to be accepted as an obvious reaction in certain folk. I have never experienced anything that could be classed as "supernatural" but that doesn't mean it is wrong or stupid to believe what we cannot fully explain and I, for one, won't belittle anybody that has had experience of this BUT I will say for all those out there that say this is due to God and such like, but then ask science to explain and clarify those experiences, you must be joking?? What a bunch of hypocrites!! Pick which side of the fence you are on, eh?! It seems that when necessary science is great but when a certain Darwin is mentioned it is against God and blah,blah,blah....!! Please stop this.
