preps don't hate goths. I am a guy who has friends in all groups but I have no group myself. I hate goths because they say the are going against conformity however they all look the same. To truly not conform one has to do what they like no matter who does it or who doesn't do it. (Existentialism)

im a prep and i dont hate goths.. i have a few emo friends actually. it could be from the lack of understanding. some people are aggitated by the fact that not everyone is like them. or if they see someone is different than them, they dont know what to think. but just  for everyone to know.. not all preps hate goths...

eh, preps dont necessarily HATE goths, they just dont like the way they dress.

they think that people pay more attention to the goths then them.

they just dont like the way that goths act and stuff.

preps have their own set of rules.

maybe because they don't fit in. and i know it sounds weird but almost everyone is nice to the preps. teachers, parents, boys (if its a hot girl) and suck-ups. so they either don't like how goths don't give them attention or how they don't fit in like thy magicly do with everyone else. also alot of preps are in the "popular" crowd (well not by me) and they feel they are to good for people. the only reason they act like this is becasue they dont understand or are jelous of the attention.

Like many subcultures, they have an 'us against them' mentality because they are insecure and want to feel special somehow so they look down on people who are different than they are.

People hate people for immature reasons because they're not grown up enough to see that a stereotype isn't always a reflection of who the person is. I've found with age a lot of people around me have grown out of thinking like this.

When you grow up this will all seem so dumb. You preps may have goth children, or you goths may have preppie kids. Then you would feel stupid for hating people who only look different than you do.

For the record: goths are NOT original. They conform to their own group's idea of what is acceptable, just like preps do. This same c**p was cause for debate back in the freakin' 80's.

The goth you hate today could donate the kidney that saves your mom in the future. The prep you despise could end up your husband in 15 years. Try hating something worthwhile, like cancer or poverty.
