  1. Dolphins aren't afraid to go up against a shark. And a shark being a killer doesn't have many animals that actually go after them. Or so that's my guess at least.

  2. i dont know much since im only 14 but i heard on a documentry that they avoid them because they travel in groups and are very fast and have a powerful 'butting' force because of there strong snouts or whatever there called on the front of there face

  3. watch this video for the answer!!

  4. Are Great Whites afraid of Dolphins?, well I would say cautious but not afraid. It is true that many smaller species of sharks have a very healthy respect for dolphins, possibly because of the dolphins tendency to travel in large pods, and also due to their speed and agility.

While it is alleged that dolphins have been known to attack sharks by using their snouts to ram into the sharks gills, it is worth noting that dolphins actually make up a substantial part of the Great White's diet in the Mediterranean Sea, where seal populations are much less than California, South Africa or Australia.

The Myth Busters experiment is very interesting but by no means conclusive. I would have said that the Great Whites were not put off or scared away by the Myth Buster's foam recreation of a dolphin but instead the sharks would have been very cautious or even confused by the electrical fields emitting from this 'new structure' in the water.

Another thing to note about Great Whites, and in reality all sharks, is that they rarely take unnecessary risks when trying to obtain a meal, because any injury sustained can lead to much more serious consequences for the shark in the long run as the wound is left untreated. So are Great Whites afraid, I somehow doubt it, just being careful and holding back in case flipper gets a little hasty with his teeth, but flipper shouldn't be so cocky either, Great Whites often hunt in co-operative groups and you never know when one is coming up behind you!

  5. 'Cuz  dolphins are faster and can kill sharks!
