After many many years of using Yahoo as my home page, several months ago something happened at Yahoo to worsen initial responsiveness to "Web Searches" or to access "Featured" items or News or Sports, etc.. This happens at work and at home, on my old computer and now on my new AMD 6000 computer. Problem is with the first-time access only. For example, 1st access to today’s feature "Zip Code" took 25 seconds - 2nd and subsequent, only 1 or 2 seconds. Initial access to "NFL Playoffs" took 21 seconds to respond - subsequently 1 second. Here’s the test. Make www.yahoo.com the default of Internet Explorer, (Tools/Internet Option/Home Page). Re-Start IE and in Web Search key in: Tom Brady. Hit enter. For me, I wait 21 seconds. Page back and try again, 1 second. Do the same with Google as IE home page and test and boom, 1 second first time. Remember, it’s been this way in Yahoo for months only. Is that all? No. 20+ second delay is CPU intensive delaying other commands.
