I purchased her 1 week ago. I tried feeding her small cricketts, mealworms, and another food product given to me by the pet store. I also tried putting her in another empty tank with just 2 small cricketts thinking she might be able to catch and eat them.Any suggestions are greatly needed. Thanks

  1. This is normal. She's not used to her new environment yet so she doesn't feel comfortable eating. She may also not be hungry. An anole usually eats only 1-2 times a week. Give her some time to settle in, and keep offering food daily. Soon you'll both be on a good feeding schedule. It's also a good idea to just keep her in her tank, moving her around will only prolong the period of being scared. Don't worry, soon enough you'll be complaining she eats too much. Good luck with your new pet!

  2. sounds like shes stressed.

does she have the proper setup?

    -10 gallon tank

-uvb strip bulb ( without this criticial component she will not be able to absorb calcium)

-uva heat bulb to bring one side of the tank to about 80 degrees

-infrared night bulb ( this will be the only bulb left on at night, turn day lights OFF) to bring tank to 75

    -plenty of climbing areas

-humid tank, they need at least 70% humidity, you should mist the vines in the tank 3x daily, it will help them drink more.

on and... ask the petstore where they get their anoles from, if its not a reputable breeder...it probably is infested with mites!

  3. Because she is in a new environment and is nervous, she'll eat when she gets hungry enough OK Trust me i know

    Good Luck
