  1. Since all presidents have been nominated by major parties, perhaps a more direct question to ask is why all major parties have always nominated white males (Obama's white as well as black so he fits the profile).  I think tradition has been the primary reason before ~1960 or so, and coincidence afterward.  There's just not much of a statistical sample over the past 40-50 years when you have only one election for one position every four years.  Colin Powell would've won the 1996 election had he run, and if America had her own version of a Thatcher or Merkel she would've had a decent chance as well.

    al sharpton? lol

    presidency is not handed out , you have to run for it and live politics (organized crime) lol

  3. because they're the ones that got voted  in by the people. but we are about to make history with obama.

  4. Because until this year no woman or candidate of color had won their party's nomination.

  5. White men rock!  Thats why most rock stars are while males!
