Right, Ghost, high gas prices are worse than worldwide terror. I hope you realize that Iran is responsible for funding terrorism and supplying weapons to kill Americans in Iraq.

  1. Carter's failed attempt to rescue the hostages sank his presidency.  Everyone since has been afraid of a similar fate.

  2. At one time, Iran was a staunch ally of the U.S. (at least publicly) when the Shah was in power.  But that has changed dramatically and today Iran might be our biggest and most dangerous enemy.  Untouchable?  Not sure what that means.

  3. they have good allies thats mostly why,but on the other hand there d**k heads no one will ever no who they hate more U.S. or Israel.

  4. It has not been untouchable. We fought an undeclared war back in the 1980's with them after reflaging Kuwait tankers. The main part of the Iran navy was sunk in a week. The truth is before Saddam invaded Kuwait we prepared for a war in the Persian Gulf from the failure of the Iran hostage rescue raid. Almost immediately after that the army corps of engineers constructed what was then a secret air base in Saudi Arabia. We stock piled munitions for aircraft for years before the first Gulf War. The army operated armed helicopters from abandoned oil platforms in the Gulf against speedboats manned by Iranians attacking the reflagged tankers. All that changed when Saddam invaded Kuwait. We expected a war in the Gulf with Iran for a decade. But the eventual enemy was Iraq.......Lots of people know very little about black budget programs in the 1980's even though they are not now classified.

  5. Cuz they are LUCKY!  Nothing more!

  6. Something tells me they are about to be touched

  7. it has nuclear arsenal

it is electrified and bound to give shock

  8. They not untouchable, it's just a wasps nest.  Can't just kill one.

    And they have OIL!!

  9. You mean aside from our proxy war with Iran by way of Iraq between 1980-1988 where we gave Saddam Hussein WMDs?

Probably because invading a country which controls a large proportion of the world's oil supply is frankly a bit stupid. Do you think your $4.00 gas is bad now? Just wait until after a conflict with Iran to see how bad gas prices can get.

And it does not have a nuclear arsenal yet, and there is no proof they are even currently working towards a nuke right now. If they did, Israel would bomb the h**l out of them before we even did anything.

Edit: Ok, If they are supplying weapons, they are doing a p**s poor job of it, since violence is down in Iraq. Again though, I don't think there is solid proof that this the case, or at least that the Iranian government is in anyway involved.

Even if this was the case though, a simple solution would be to leave Iraq as Maliki and the Iraqi government wants. Iranians can't kill American troops in Iraq if there are no troops in Iraq.

As for terrorism, unless it is terrorism aimed at the US which I don't see how it is, then why is it our business? Israel can very well handle palestinian terror groups since that is where funding goes to. What we should be doing is going after Al-Qaeda, who actually did attack us and is neither in Iraq or Iran (the small group in Iraq called Al-Qaeda actually has no real affilition with those responsible for 9/11).

The problem is that when we spread ourselves too thin, we don't make progress on in any of our wars. Fighting on multiple fronts almost always leads to failure, especially without real allies.
