Question:

Why has LCBO not dropped their prices?

We were told that because LCBO stock was purchased when our dollar was low, they could not drop prices until new stock is purchased. Food prices have dropped due to a strong dollar and competition from superstores such as WalMart. LCBO prices remain the same if not more. Where is the reduction in price and when will we see it? Once again the consumer takes the hit.

  1. LCBO is government regulated. Government regulated alcohol systems rarely fall. The beer store drops prices more often since the breweries actually care about it. LCBO is used to pay for education and other services in ontario in which is where majority of the profits go.
