Question:

Why has Manchester's Debdale Park Reservoir (Lake) water levels gone so low in space of a year?

I visited debdale park over the weekend for walk round lake with our kids. we last went last year and the water level was quite high so was suprised to see it almost dissapearing. Apart from the obvious reason as having little rain over the winter, i was wondering if there is anyone in the 'know' that might tell me of a different reason for it being so low. eg

draining it to be cleaned up etc

also a birdy told me that the water was originally pumped in through a pipe line from another source!!! is this true??

will we see water levels back up or will it become neglected as the park is underused??

any info would be good

thanks

Rick

  1. Yes I  also heard the water was pumped in from another source... so it's a man made lake
