Why has barratt Homes share price fallen by a greater percentage of its high, than its competitors?

  1. Because investors are worried about the debt that Barratt is saddled with (i.e. more than their competition) and in today's credit crunch environment, the cost of that debt is increasing, and therefore investors don't think their shares are worth that much.  

    It's called "gearing ratios" and Barratt is known as "highly geared."
