Practically in the Washington DC area we have been hit with some pretty bad storms in the past several weeks. It storms almost every other day it seems like. Can somebody explain why this area has been hit with such bad weather?

Thanks

  1. even here in Toronto we have been getting a lot of storms. It is caused when there is a lot of heat and the sun evaporates a lot of water from lakes, rivers and the ocean. When that happens it forms cumulonimbus clouds and the clouds have a static charge between the earth and sky making lighting/thunder

  2. I think it's like that throughout the whole country...maybe even world. Luckily we didn't get any horrible storms by us last week, but on my graduation day there was a tornado watch, a huge thunderstorm, and hail the size of marbles.

  3. it because of climate change

  4. Global warming.

We're f*cking up the planet and no one really cares, so the atmosphere is going crazy in return. Don't be surprised when all seasons become completely out of control.

Some people think it's a myth, and they're entitled to their wrong opinion.

  5. The USA is currently experiencing an active weather pattern.

Deep Troughing across the central portions of the country has led to cooler weather in some place and stronger storms affecting regions further SE than usual.

  6. weather is different every year. the atmosphere is very unstable right now and significant weather events are most likely to occur when the atmosphere is unstable. also, considering it is june, this is a time of year where thunderstorms are very likely. other places in the world are experiencing their normal weather for this time of year. el nino and la nina are both events that make a significant change in the weather that happens. do not let the media persuade you in believing that the global warming is the cause of all of this....years of meteorology and climate classes will tell you otherwise. most likely the weather in your area will return back to a more stable state and more "normal" weather will occur. hopefully i helped!

  7. The earth is going through a climate change. We've had them bad down in NC, too. Especially with tornadoes and hail. Global Warming doesn't help much either.

  8. omg i know! I hate this weather!

    it's so annoying

    Dx

    idk why it's happening.
