  1. I don't know either, but I picked him up earlier this year because of his steals, now I read he may not even start anymore,,,any red sox fans out there, what's happening to him?

  2. You know as any good baseball player, Jacoby Ellsbury, knows when he should steal and when he shouldn't.  I mean, look at his standings, first in the AL with stolen bases.  He didn't get that just by luck, he's a player, whom, has studied extensively the pitchers he's up against.  We haven't seen the last stolen base from his this year you can bet on that!

  3. Steals generally tend to fade in the second half of the season. I think it probably has to do with nagging injuries and fatigue along with a desire by managers not to risk good players to serious injury, especially if their team is in contention.

My guess would be Ellsbury isn't stealing bases because he's not getting the green light to do so.

  4. he said he felt pain in his legs, and that he should save his energy for the post season. He did not realize there is still 2 months left in the season...

they've also been batting him down in the lineup due to unfavorable pitching match ups...

  5. Obviously, he is in a slump which causes him to not get on base as much as he used to.

Even though he is getting on base, the slump causes his confidence to go down which could reflect on why he hasnt stolen many bases

    Thats what I think

  6. Probably because the Red Sox don't want to risk him being injured.
